Sell a Profile Banner
Upload a landscape image that other users can apply as their profile background. Once approved it appears in the Marketplace and on your profile Showcase.
Image requirements
- Banners must be your original artwork — no AI-generated images, traced work, or assets you don't own rights to.
- Recommended size: 1920×480 px (4:1 wide landscape). Minimum 1400×400 px. Larger is fine — anything wider than 1920 px is automatically scaled down to 1920 px on upload.
- PNG, JPG or WebP, under 8 MB.
- Banners span the full width of the window, so the crop changes with screen size — keep anything essential inside the middle 80% of the height, and away from the far left and right edges. On a wide monitor the top and bottom are trimmed; on a phone the sides are.
- A banner is a backdrop, not a display piece: it sits behind the profile or story header, softly blurred and darkened towards the bottom. Bold shapes and colour read well; fine linework and small text do not.
Price & what you earn
- Set your price between 100 and 3,000 Quills. Most banners sit around 300.
- On your own: you keep 75% of every sale. DawnScribe keeps 25% to cover operations.
- As a novel collab: tie a banner to a novel and it sells exclusively alongside that story — artist 45% · author 30% · DawnScribe 25%. The novel's author has to approve the banner before it can sell.
- Want a collab? Open a novel you'd like to make art for and press Banner Collab on its story page. You can offer a banner you've already drafted here, or start a fresh one. The author gets a notification and can accept or decline; nothing is listed until they say yes.
- Earnings are tracked in real money, not Quills, and appear on your Payouts page.
Content rules
- Allowed: dark, moody and dramatic work. A wounded or bloodied character is fine, and so is suggestive or sensual art.
- Not allowed: graphic gore — dismemberment, mutilation, or blood as the subject rather than the mood.
- Not allowed: explicit or erotic content, nudity, or anything sexualising a character who reads as a minor.
- Not allowed: hateful imagery, real-world slurs or symbols, or harassment of a real person.
- If you're unsure whether a piece crosses the line, submit it — a reviewer will tell you rather than penalise you.
Review
- Every banner is reviewed before it goes live (typically 3–5 days).
- If it's declined you'll get a reason, and you can edit and resubmit the same draft.
