Sell an Avatar Cosmetic
List an original piece of avatar clothing or accessory. Once approved it appears in the Marketplace and on your profile Showcase for readers to unlock with Quills.
How it works
- Cosmetics must be your original artwork — no AI-generated images, traced work, or assets you don't own rights to.
- Items are applied to the DawnScribe avatar system. Use a transparent PNG for best results.
- No adult or offensive content. Visible to all ages.
- You earn 80% of every sale. DawnScribe keeps 20%.
- Items go live after review (typically 3–5 days).
Upload 4 PNG files at 512×512 px, all with transparent backgrounds, all pixel-perfectly aligned to each other. DawnScribe stacks them at runtime and can shift the color layer to any hue — so every reader gets a randomized color on unlock.
If your item has multiple colorable zones (e.g. a shirt with a logo), you can submit a separate 4-layer stack for each zone — they'll be composited together on the avatar.
Upload a minimum of 6 fully finished PNG files at 512×512 px — each a complete, hand-painted version of the item in a different color or style. You decide exactly which options are available. Readers receive one at random on unlock, and can spend Embers to retry for another variant.
Use this format when your item has complex gradients, patterns, or textures that wouldn't survive a hue-shift — or when you want total control over every colorway.
This is also required for any colors the system can't tint (white, black, grey, pastels, neons — see list above).
You can combine both approaches on the same item. Use the 4-layer stack for the colors the system can shift automatically, and add hand-painted variant files for any specific colors (like white, black, or a neon) that need to be done by hand. All options feed into the same randomization pool — readers won't know or care which method produced each color.
